CEDC is also involved in providing shelter requirements for the under-served public all over Sri Lanka. To this effect we are open to receiving donations from Domestic and Foreign Individuals and Organisations. Pre - engineered drawings will be made available to the donors once they indicate an interest. A deposit is required before any drawings are sent via post / electronically. This is to cover the cost of services provided by our Architects and Engineers who are based in Singapore and Thailand and experienced in Light Gauge Framing Systems.

Simplified Layouts

We simplified the building process by developing systematic modular layouts for each space of any building project. This significantly helps any lay person to understand an unfamiliar building system.

Our experienced architects will work within the parameters of the site as well as your requirements, so as to create a beautiful work of art which is both sustainable and highly functional.

Brick, metal, vinyl, wood, etc; whatever exterior finish you require to dress up your buildings, can be planned into your modern building project to give it the look and feel you expect.

Teamwork & Training

Our team assigned to each project and led by a seasoned Engineering Project Coordinator, will work with local construction teams throughout the completion of each project. Local workers will at the beginning be headed by and trained by our teams; they will however take on their own work scope when they have developed sufficient skills. We are not only here to build, but to impart our knowledge to local builders, so that we are at the same time increasing the talent pool in Ceylon.

WHY STEEL?

Strength

The inherent strength of steel creates buildings that are exceptionally strong, stable, and durable. In addition, steel’s great strength makes it possible to carry longer spans than are possible with wood-framed construction.

Non-Combustible

Steel doesn’t burn or add fuel to a fire. When combined with residential fire suppression systems, non-combustible structural steel meets the stringent requirements of building codes nationwide. For multi-family housing, this demonstrated margin of safety is especially critical.

Stability

Steel neither expands nor contracts substantially under normal conditions in multi-family dwellings. It’s a quality that helps maintain the outstanding fit and structural integrity of our building system as delivered from the factory

Sustainability

Steel is an environmentally friendly alternative to wood: no trees are cut to make steel structural members. Also, the amount of scrap and waste in typical steel-framed construction is about two percent; the figure for comparable wood-framed projects is twenty percent. Building with steel also increases the life expectancy of your building. In addition steel frames do not oxidize like other metal structures.

Mold/Pest Resistant

Mold and wood-infesting insects such as termites can create serious maintenance and health issues in wood framed structures. Steel construction is immune to such problems. It also won’t rot, warp, crack or split.
